Winterlion, Bluebook (Julie Davis solo), & Laura Goldhamer // $12
A night of Reckoning with Gold Tooth Collective. FACEBOOK EVENT
WINTERLION
Singer, songwriter, funky looper, performance artist/actor, and founder of the Gold Tooth Collective, A.C. WINTERLION rolls out stories from the landscape of life’s bittersweet wrestling match with that thing called love. Having played in a variety of bands, Winterlion takes the stage solo now and then. Tonight is one of those times.
Bluebook
Bluebook is the haunting apocalyptic lounge project of Julie Davis, Jess Parsons, Hayley Helmericks, Anna Morsett and sometimes Joseph Pope III. NPR describes Davis’ music as offering, “beautifully structured dynamics and captivating sonic twists,” Kyle Harris of The Westword describes Bluebook’s album, The Astronaut’s Wife, as “a jewel…superb…phenomenal,” and The Denver Post Reverb says Bluebook “gives haunting, holy voice to some of the darkest spots of imagination.”
Laura Goldhamer
Laura Goldhamer draws from a variety of purely American traditions; however, Laura’s ability to merge traditional Americana with the avant-garde, mixing inventive homemade technologies with earnest folk, is particularly noteworthy. As a folk songwriter, guitarist, old-time banjo player, stop-motion animator, & instrument inventor, Goldhamer enlivens crowds with laughter and awe, conveying her intimate and focused energy in a unified and immersive musical, visual, and kinetic performance. She can be heard in “Songs for All Ages” performances, engaging children and adults alike in creative process and imagination.
