Ghosts of Glaciers – (Sprawling soundscapes. Progressive post-metal from Denver)
“Formed in 2010, Ghosts of Glaciers has a name that could alternately be an oblique reference to global warming or a poetic nod to the crags — inexplicable rock formations and giant rocks left on the ground when the most massive of glaciers from the last great ice age passed into history. The handle is fitting given the act’s massive sound, which possesses a stark and majestic beauty of its own.” – Tom Murphy. Denver Westword.

ABANDONS – (Heavy instrumental music from Denver with immersive projections.)
Equal parts expansive composition, brooding atmospheric textures, and devastating heaviness, instrumental trio ABANDONS draw inspiration from physical landscapes and cinema just as much as their post-rock, metal, and ambient influences.
Forming in Denver in 2019, Brenton Dwyer (guitar), Nate Colbert (bass), and Samuel Mowat (drums, samples, drones) began writing with the intent to give equal voice to their respective instruments in the absence of lyrics. The result is a sound where Dwyer’s loop-heavy guitar work finds its home between angular tremolo picking and all-out distorted chugging, while Colbert’s bass lines offer a heavyweight melodicism alongside Mowat’s dynamic sense of bombast.
The group has become known for their intense live performances, enveloping audiences in an immersion of visual projections, dynamic riffs, decaying tape loops, and effect-laden walls of sound. Inspired by the likes of Russian Circles, Mogwai, and Isis.
