DJUKEBOX Ft. Jessica Lawdan and Chad Irish (w/VERENA)

DjukeBox is the collaboration between Jessica Lawdan (lead vocals, ukulele, keys) and Chad Irish (vocals, percussion). The duo is based in Denver, CO and formed in 2022 after a fated meeting an open-mic themed birthday party. Between the two of them, they have over 40 years of performing experiencing spanning an eclectic range of genres–jazz big band to punk garage to acoustic folk and more. The magic happened when Lawdan’s affinity for colorful instrumentation met Irish’s unique approach to hand percussion, and all of this was mixed up with the influences and inspiration both performer’s got from their mutual love of the Denver open mic scene. Their distinctive brand of songwriting embodies pop-soul sounds, anti-folk wit, and innovative rhythmic flair. In their short time as a band, they have performed at historic venues such as Dazzle and The Mercury Cafe as well as up-and-coming music spaces such as The Corner Beet and Globe Hall.
